Based in Madrid, Iberia operates an international network of services from its main base of Madrid-Barajas Airport.[Q TRAVEL – Costa Rica’s tourism is getting a boost from Iberia, to help bring more Italian tourists to the country.
The Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT) – Costa Rican Tourism Institute, confirmed it signed an agreement with the Spanish airline to promote Costa Rica to the Italian market.
The airline will add two direct flights between San Jose and Rome via Madrid.
Currently there are no direct flights to and from Costa Rica and Italy. Italian tourists to Costa Rica have several options through British Airways (London), Air France (Paris) and Condor (Frankfurt). Later this year, KLM will restart flights from Amsterdam.
